Registering API keys

API keys function as security credentials that allow communication between external systems and McFile. They ensure that only authorized requests access the organization's data, being fundamental for automations and personalized integrations.

API key management is exclusive to users with Administrator permissions.

API key generation

1. Click on your username located in the upper right corner of the screen.
2. Select the Admin option.
3. In the navigation menu, go to Users and choose the desired user type.
4. Locate the user who will receive the key and click the edit button (or register a new user).
5. On the user profile, navigate to the Key Management section and click Add.
6. Assign a name to the key and select the required Scopes, defining the access level for each of them.
7. Click Save in the key window.
8. Click the Save button (or Create, if registering a new user) located in the upper right corner of the user page to apply the changes.
9. Copy the keys displayed in the confirmation window. For security, the codes are displayed only once and must be stored in a safe place.
10. Click Finish to complete the operation.
